Android N (Nougat) was released officially in August 2016, and we’ve been seeing continuous rollout of Android flagships ever since. So, it shouldn’t com as a surprise that Google has been working on the next Android 8.0 update. It’s features have been announced, and the third developer preview is available. The latest news is that Oreo will have animated clock icon.

Developer Chris Lacy shared some exciting news on his blog: in the APK for the Google Clock app from the Android O Beta, he noticed there are hints that Google will add animation to the Clock icon. The XML file where he found the code shows that the icon will be capable of displaying the current hour, minute and second. There were also images included which show the different hands of the clock. These clues all point to a new animated clock icon for Android O – much like the one already present on iOS.

Most smartphones in West Africa are still yet to rollout updates for their existing devices and are sure to introduce new high-end devices into the market using these updates.

What reviewers and critics like mainly about Android N (Nougat) is the split screen function and sure to get the better with the 8.0 update.

There are some many features to anticipate with the latest release of Android O for preview and testing.
